Oncology Club, Bangladesh, and a USA based Organization “Radiation Knowledge” are going to hold “1st SAARC Radiation Oncology Educational Symposium & Planning Challenge Event” for the Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists and Radiation therapy Technologists of SAARC countries. The event will be arranged on a virtual platform. This educational symposium will consist of lectures on radiation therapy and disease site-specific discussion on breast and cervical cancer. The highlight of the symposium is a planning competition among the participating medical physicists. Monetary prizes will be given to the best planners.

Competition Event

  • Start: One week after end of the educational event – Duration: Two weeks

Before Competition

  • RK will create the event and add two tasks: Breast and Cervix (Example attached
  • The “Package” per task will be prepared and uploaded to the corresponding task on the website
  • The Package is composed of:
    • PDF (Competition Guidelines)
    • DICOM sets (Images & structures),
    • RK Plan Evaluation Application – Desktop version

During Competition:

  • Participant will login to their RK account and download the package per task
  • Participant will read the document carefully and follow guidelines
  • Participant will start planning and scoring the plan (trials) through the desktop app or website
  • As participant reaches highest score, best plan will be submitted and tagged as “Finalized”.
  • Planners can submit question/inquiries/comments to admins.
  • RK Admins can send messages to all participants.
  • RK will host two Zoom meetings in the first week of to answer participants’ questions

Plan Assessment/Verification By RK:

  • “Finalized” plans will be evaluated by RK admins, after being checked the plan will be tagged as “Checked”.
  • Ranking planners and generate stats for the event.
  • RK will contact top planners and request to prepare their planning tips for presentation.

Top Planners’ List & Prizes:

  • Top planners’ list will be created.
  • Winners will be contacted to transfer the prize.
  • Results will be announced one week after plan submission deadline.
